Learn Russian in the EU offers extensive study trip and excursion opportunities, as well as and a social program. Our goal is introducing students to the ethnic, historical and cultural diversity of Daugavpils and Latvia in the context of their historical and contemporary relations with Russia.

Our semester abroad and other long-term programs include different study trip destinations. As a rule, we offer long weekend trips around Latvia and neighboring Lithuania and Estonia. We also provide many short excursions on weekdays.

  • Welcome to Daugavpils tour.
  • Multicultural Daugavpils: Church Hill.
  • Russian House in Daugavpils.
  • Daugavpils Regional and Art Museum.
  • Dinaburg Fortress.
  • Mark Rothko Art Centre.
  • Jewish Community Museum.
  • Military memorials (WW1, WW2, Afghan War, and more) and the Holocaust Memorial.
  • Russian banya.

Long weekend and full day study trip samples:

  • The Basilica of Aglona, World War II collection, and Devil’s Lake in Aglona.
  • Riga – the capital of Latvia. Old Town, Art Nouveau architecture, Jurmala seaside resort.
  • Rundale Palace – a masterpiece of Baroque architecture.
  • Lithuania: Vilnius, Trakai, Kaunas.
  • Estonia: Tallinn.
  • Ligo (Midsummer) – Latvia’s most beloved holiday.

Mobile app
Learn Russian in the EU uses a mobile application giving students access to a collection of interactive excursions and quizzes. We developed these interactive excursions to support students exploring the Baltic countries in their free time.

Culture and sports
We ensure the students will be able to attend concerts, theater shows, participate in sports events, help teachers in local schools, engage in community service, and a range of cultural activities. Our culture and sports managers inform students and provide all required assistance.

Extracurricular activities
We also offer various extracurricular activities that enrich students’ cultural experience: guest speakers, round-table discussions, board games, film discussions, culinary, crafts, and more.
