• Learn Russian in the European Union

On-demand virtual study abroad option: online interactive excursions

“Learn Russian in the European Union” works in Daugavpils, Latvia, the most Russian-speaking city in the European Union.

Daugavpils was once part of both the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, and has a remarkable historical legacy tied to Russia and Russian-European relations. Daugavpils is located very close to borders with Russia, Belarus, and Lithuania.

“Learn Russian in the EU” always includes extensive excursion program into all our study abroad projects. We also assist students in arranging additional trips to neighboring countries when requested.

In 2020, we converted this rich experience into a unique portfolio of interactive virtual excursions.

All virtual excursions include numerous facts and illustrations, as well as our own photo and video materials gathered during the tours with our students. This makes virtual excursions as close as possible to the real experience of our foreign students physically visiting the excursion destinations.

The virtual excursions include live narration in Russian or English and reserve a room for vocabulary, questions, and live discussion. They are very informative and informal. Many excursions are supported by Russian and English tour descriptions that can be used as homework.

Offer to university teachers and students

International universities can greatly improve student motivation, inclusivity, experience, and progress by integrating virtual excursions into their Russian and East Europen area studies courses.

The home college teachers can pick the most interesting destinations and specify the narration language (Russian or English).

We recommend negotiate the virtual excursion services with “Learn Russian in the EU” in advance. This would greatly help in further planning, resource allocation, and scheduling, as well as with calculating the service costs.
